• Budget your content according to the duration given.   A most common mistake of speakers is attempting to tell everything on a given subject regardless of the time allotment.
  • Identify your goal- is it to inspire your audience or persuade clients to purchase your product?
  • Know yourself.  Identify your best hours when         ideas are flowing and tap them during those times. 
  • Play with ideas.  Be open to change them if you     come up with better ones.
  • Compose a strong opening that will connect.          A simple strategy is tell them something they         agree with immediately followed by something they don't know in your initial minute.  The first               establishes commonality and the latter will put your audience on the edge of their seats as you signal to them that they better listen up or they will miss something interesting.
  • Organize your body by following this formula:          point, reason, example, story, call to action and gain.
  • Dovetail your conclusion with your opening but       include a twist or an added take-home.
