Powerpoint can be a cool tool to enhance your presentations.  However, a lot of speakers misuse this program and end up doing more harm than good.

Here are major techniques for powerpoint:
  • Use only pictures directly related to the topic
  • Minimize words; if possible reduce sentences to phrases and phrases to words
  • Use big fonts. Minumum size is 30 points
  • If using a projector, stay close to the screen but avoid causing shadows
  • Look at your laptop and audience not at the screen
  • Keep your slides simple; avoid clutters
  • Avoid too many slides; 1 per 2 minutes at most
  • Never use your finger as a pointer
