Powerpoint can be a cool tool to enhance your presentations. However, a lot of speakers misuse this program and end up doing more harm than good.
Here are major techniques for powerpoint:
- Use only pictures directly related to the topic
- Minimize words; if possible reduce sentences to phrases and phrases to words
- Use big fonts. Minumum size is 30 points
- If using a projector, stay close to the screen but avoid causing shadows
- Look at your laptop and audience not at the screen
- Keep your slides simple; avoid clutters
- Avoid too many slides; 1 per 2 minutes at most
- Never use your finger as a pointer
