Many people shy away from public speaking because they view themselves as not successful enough to merit talking before an audience. Others feel this is only reserved for "professional speakers". This is mainly due to the worldview that equates success with money, popularity and power.

We need to redefine successful people as those who have developed their God-given abilities to a point that they are living decent and fulfilled lives.  For example, a middle-income wife and mother who raised a great family is on equal footing or perhaps better off than a lonely tycoon.

Thus it can be said that any individual who has a burning desire to share his passion to make a difference is a candidate towards becoming an effective public speaker.
